Oana Balica | Signature Slam Dunk for Globetrotters
The Pioneer Globetrotter’s totem landed in Bucharest and the one who made her mark this time is no other than our CEO – Oana Balica, the Original Globetrotter.
In the world of Globetrotters, we have a rich legacy. The Original Globetrotters are the ones who inspire and work every day to expand and develop the business. They travel from location to location, making sure everyone is on the right track to success and are the first ones who will share their experience with those who are willing to listen.

Q: Who has contributed over time to Pioneer's growth?
A: First and foremost, Remy Adrion who believed in us from day one. Despite the youthfulness of the job market, commercial trades, or VEO itself, he continued to invest in us, believing that outside of France, we could have top-performing acquisition teams and buyers in the NOZ top 10.
Subsequently, Thierry Carlucci(add picture), who is a constant presence in the growth of Pioneer, Dare, and Veo, is always helping shape the organisation.
Last but not least, Dare made a significant contribution to Pioneer's growth, the acquisition teams, and VEO's activities. People are the backbone of any business, and Dare was the strategic partner who enabled us to improve acquisition performance through talent recruitment, training, coaching, and, of course, maintaining high standards, allowing us to become the best clearance acquisition channel in NOZ.
Of course, I must mention all the people who believed in Pioneer and Dare's projects and worked tirelessly for them, facing challenges, setbacks, and less favourable outcomes with resilience and dedication.
I wish for them to become an unstoppable force in achieving their goal: 51% total clearance!
Q: Who do you think will contribute in the future?
A: All of the above. In addition, I believe we are starting to build a good relationship with Marketing, and I think their reorganisation will further enhance their contribution to Pioneer's success.
Moreover, Nadege Lenoir will be involved in consulting for Pioneer, so we have new forces joining us, bringing more expertise in the industry and international clearance.
Q: How long did it take to grow Veo's locations, and what did it involve?
A: It depends on the location because support activities are very different from commercial ones, so the opportunities and challenges were quite different as well.
I will try to summarise and explain what made a location successful, not just "large." We are interested in having "well-developed" locations, not just expanded ones.
The growth of locations has always been driven by people and their ability to grasp our business model, understand it, apply it, and adapt it, all while integrating it into the GROUP. It also involves people who passed on this model, who travelled, trained, and contributed to its spread.
Whenever I visit a location, I tell the people there that they can become the most high-performing, productive, and great location because I genuinely believe that.
Viviana and I believed that when we started at VEO 17 years ago.
We gave a lot of thinking about how to be better, how to demonstrate that we produce greater added value than other locations, and why we deserve investment in our location. Site teams must have their local pride, but they should consider that for a team to claim they are the best, their beneficial impact must be visible both in the whole company and the industry.
We are fortunate to be part of a universe based on intrapreneurship that has allowed many people and sites to create departments, companies, and business models from scratch.
